"Ed gladly represents a lovable loser (guest star Shuler Hensley) who is sued by a woman for breach of privacy after she rejected his romantic overtures and found her photo posted on his web site." (NB, not this website!!!) Airs on NBC, 9 January 2002. 9 December : Shuler has a guest-starring role in an upcoming episode of the popular US TV series Ed. The program is scheduled to air on NBC on 9th January 2002. 9 December : Rehearsals for Oklahoma! start on 7 January 2002, prior to the show commencing previews on 23 February at the Gershwin Theatre, 222 W 51st Street, NYC. Official opening date is 21 March. 19 November : Shuler has just been asked by the producers of the popular TV show "Ed" to be the guest star for the next episode they are filming. News of when it will air to follow. Details of the previous episode in which Shuler starred are in the Film/TV section. 11 November : Some info concerning Shuler's performance schedule for his last week at Les Mis - Shuler is contracted to 7 shows a week. For this final week he will be doing ALL the weekday shows and will not take his rotation until Saturday 17th. Unfortunately he doesn't yet know which show he will be doing on Saturday, but if I hear, I'll be sure to post the details! 8 November : Shuler leaves the cast of Les Miserables on 17 November after being with the show for a year. He then has a well-earned break before starting rehearsals for Oklahoma! in January. 2 November : Shuler attends the Pittsburgh premiere of The Bread My Sweet in which he plays a leading role. Written and directed by local playwright Melissa Martin, the film is the opener for the annual Three Rivers Film Festival. Here's a link to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 7 October : Shuler is currently filming a new musical version of Frankenstein which the authors hope will "prove to be a definitive version of the story, rich in emotional subtext and with the clearest and deepest characterisations of Frankenstein and his Creature yet experienced." Shuler, of course, plays the Creature!!! The show's creators say that "Using the latest digital video technology, a fully-produced version of the show will be captured to create something rather unique in the theater world - a film of a new stage musical." More detail, including sound clips and information on how to order the exclusive 8 track Highlights Demo CD featuring Shuler, can be found on the production's website at Frankenstein, The Musical 25 September : The entire New York company of Les Mis performed the show's finale live on the Rosie O'Donnell Show today. The show also announced a special ticket offer: beginning Tuesday, September 25th through November 3rd, you can buy great orchestra seats to Les Mis for only $45, with $5 of every ticket sold going to The Twin Tower Fund. Performances begin February 23, 2002 at the Gershwin Theatre, 51st Street and Broadway, show officially opens March 21. And please write to me with any comments/questions. ~ Carol 8 August : Shuler is currently starring as Inspector Javert in the Broadway production of Les Miserables and will be with the show until October 2001. 21 July : Shuler plays a "Hick Farmer"! in the Ashley Judd/Hugh Jackman movie Animal Attraction released in the UK by Fox 2000 Pictures on 20th July 2001. Based on the best-selling novel Animal Husbandry the movie was originally called Someone Like You when it was released in the US earlier this year. July : Shuler attends the Sundance Festival to take part in a play lab in which several actors have been invited to read new plays for future productions.
