1 Dec : Unfortunately The Great American Trailer Park Musical has posted a provisional closing notice for this coming Sunday, 4 December, unless there is a boost in ticket sales. But the show's cast album is on track for release on 24 January, and Broadway.com has posted a great video feature of Shuler, Orfeh and Kaitlin recording their song "But He's Mine". The 4.5 minute video includes interviews and footage from the recording session. 9 Nov : Playbill has a nice photo of Shuler and his family at the opening night of The Big Apple Circus, and an article about the cast of Trailer Park performing on WB11's Morning News yesterday. 5 Nov : Contestants are currently being sought for the Great American Trailer Park Pageant! Scheduled for 17 November, the contest will be hosted by Jerry Springer and is in aid of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Full details at the show's website. Tickets to the pageant will be available at Dodger Stages at 3pm on the 17th, with a suggested donation of $10. On the evening before the pageant, the cast of Trailer Park will head over to Caroline's on Broadway to take part in Scott Nevin's Variety Hour. Details at Playbill. 30 Oct : Shuler and his Trailer Park co-stars were in the recording studios on Wednesday putting down tracks for a CD to be released by Sh-K-Boom Records. Broadway.com has 19 great photos of the event. 28 Oct : Continuing on from our 19 Oct entry, Shuler will discuss "switch hitting" acting techniques at tomorrow's Actorfest. And be sure not to miss the fabulous video preview of The Great American Trailer Park Musical at Broadway World.com. 25 Oct : About.com has published a nice photo of Shuler at the Zorro première. 20 Oct : Hola, amigos! A reminder that The Legend of Zorro will soon be in cinemas worldwide! Shuler attended the première at the Orpheum Theater in LA on Sunday, and the movie opens in the US and UK on 28 October. For release dates in other countries please see here Opa! (which Shuler filmed earlier this year) was released at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. 19 Oct : Coming soon from Sh-K-Boom Records - The Great American Trailer Park Musical cast recording! Send an email to be alerted of the CD's release date here Shuler will be one of the panelists at this year's Actorfest to be held at New York's Marriott Marquis on 29 October. Presented by performing arts newspaper Back Stage, Actorfest offers information and advice to both aspiring and established actors. Do check out the site updates if you haven't already done so, for some fabulous new photos of Shuler's family! 1 Oct : Following on from Shuler's news about the Today TV show, Playbill has published a lovely photo of the event here 30 Sept : From Shuler : "Yesterday I was asked to be on the TODAY show to build houses for the Katrina victims. I brought some cast mates and we had a blast helping the volunteers from Habitat for Humanity. We helped promote the show and helped build a house at the same time!" Broadway.com has laid on some excellent coverage of Trailer Park's opening night : a terrific video feature of clips from the show plus interviews with the cast and creatives, and no less than45 fabulous photos of the cast plus first-night attendees. These included Tom Cavanagh, who Shuler appeared with in two episodes of Ed, and Matthew Modine, who Shuler appears with in the new movie Opa! Trailer Park's official site has been updated with 6 new video clips from the show and tells us to "stay tuned for tracks from the upcoming cast recording". Finally, the Poughkeepsie Journal has published a nice article about Trailer Park by Barbara Mehlman 29 Sept : There are some great photos of Shuler in Broadway.com's coverage of the Hurricane Relief benefit (scroll through to #21) and Playbill's Trailer Park opening night photo call. 27 Sept : The cast of The Great American Trailer Park Musical take their first official bow tonight. Best wishes to all involved with the show. Fans report Shuler and his fellow actors as being fantastic and the show hysterically funny! The New York Post describes Shuler as "showing great comic chops" ... while over at Playbill another not-to-be-missed Brief Encounter with Shuler has just been published. Sunday's Hurricane Relief benefit concert was a huge success and raised over $200,000. Shuler sang You'll Never Walk Alone accompanied by just a piano and is reported as having been "spectacular". Read more at Playbill. 17 Sept : The official opening of The Great American Trailer Park Musical has had another slight delay and is now scheduled for Tuesday 27 September. 15 Sept : Talkin'Broadway has an article on Trailer Park which features lots of background about the show and cast and a big photo of Shuler with his co-stars. 14 Sept : Shuler is to take part in a special Hurricane Relief benefit concert together with dozens more stars from the Broadway stage. The show will be produced by the company of Wicked and held in their theatre - the Gershwin on 51st Street (the theatre which also staged Oklahoma!) - at 8:30pm on Sunday 25 September. Shuler says Trailer Park gets out at 9pm so he will join the concert after that. For details of the amazing cast, ticket prices, and the organizations that will benefit, see Broadway World and Playbill. 4 Sept : Shuler was thrilled to sing the National Anthem at Shea Stadium last Wednesday (31 August) at a game between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. These delightful photos were taken by Bruce Glikas of Broadway.com, and show Shuler with his wife Paula and their two gorgeous children Skyler (5) and Grayson (1). Despite the family's support (and Shuler's t-shirt!) the Phillies beat the Mets 8-2 ~ but a great day was still had by all! The show's official opening, originally set for the 15th of this month, has been postponed for 1 week and will now take place on Thursday 22 September. 20 Aug : Playbill has an article about Trailer Park, together with a photo showing Shuler in rehearsal. 19 Aug : The Great American Trailer Park Musical has its first preview performance at Dodger Stages tomorrow. Best wishes to Shuler and all the cast and production team for a happy and successful run! The show's official website has now been updated, although some sections (like Pics & Music) are yet to come. And it's a Flash site, so you may find you need to install the latest macromedia plug-in. 17 Aug : Trailer Park will have a special Gala performance on 12 September to benefit the New York Musical Theatre Festival (where the show had a hugely successful run last year). Tickets are $150 to cover both the performance plus an after-show party with food, drinks and celebrity guests. More detail at Broadwayworld 6 Aug : Although some theatre websites are listing Trailer Park as an open-ended run, Shuler says the show is a 6 month run and he will be with it through it's entirety. 6 Aug : More photos from the Trailer Park press preview are now online at Broadway.com and Playbill 5 Aug : Members of the Press were this week treated to a special Preview of The Great American Trailer Park Musical in which the cast performed 3 songs from the show. Don't miss either the great photo coverage of the event at BroadwayWorld or the feature article at Playbill where Shuler speaks of his excitement about his new role, and his daughter's even greater excitement at his upcoming role in next year's Tarzan! 16 July : Even more great news from Shuler! : "I have been offered the role of Kerchak (the grey-back gorilla and Tarzan father) for Disney's upcoming musical version of "Tarzan". It will be a HUGE production complete with jungle and a Phil Collins score. Should be great!! It will open on Broadway this spring." Shuler is also scheduled to attend Broadway Barks 7 (Shubert Alley, 30 July) where together with many more Broadway stars he'll help in presenting animals for adoption. Broadway Barks is an annual New York charity event organised by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters. more » 16 June : Sadly the Odessa production of Sweeney Todd in which Shuler was to have played Sweeney has been cancelled because of financial problems. The good news however is that he will be starring in an exciting new off-Broadway show The Great American Trailer Park Musical at Dodger Stages from August. Read more about the show here» In the meantime, Shuler's next stage appearance is on 29 June at San Fran's Davies Symphony Hall, where he will reprise his role of Boris Thomashefsky in Michael Tilson Thomas' Yiddish Theatre concert. 14 June : Shuler returns to the New York stage! ~ Some very welcome news from Shuler : "In August I am going to start rehearsing a new musical for off-Broadway! More details later." He has also just been to LA to do some re-shoots for the ZORRO sequel The Legend of Zorro due for release in October. 28 April : Shuler has some hot news which includes a role he's wanted to play for some time! ~ "I will be leaving for Greece to do a part in an independent film called "OPA!". Should be fun. More details later. Also in July, I will be doing my FIRST Sweeney Todd in Odessa, Texas with none other than Betty Buckley playing my cohort: Mrs. Lovett. It will be conducted by the genius behind Sondheim: Jonathan Tunick!" 16 April : Shuler will appear in concert at the Cherokee Christian Church, 75th Street and Belinder, Prairie Village, Kansas City - next Sunday April 24 at 7pm. Shuler is a former student of Frank Curtis, director of the Fine Arts Institute which is sponsoring the show. Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for adults. Call (913) 362-7077 or (913) 492-4490 for more information. 16 April : A short broadcast about the Michael Tilson Thomas Yiddish Theatre Project (in which Shuler stars this weekend at New York's Carnegie Hall) aired on NPR yesterday, featuring a brief interview with Shuler and soundclip of him singing from the show. Listen to it online here 6 April : UK fans, a word of warning that Saturday's Law & Order programme has been re-scheduled due to extended news coverage of The Wedding! Please take care when setting your VCRs. Current times are 22:05 to 23:00. 30 March : Shuler's episode of Law & Order : Criminal Intent seems on track to be shown in the UK next week. Details are - Channel Five, Saturday 9 April, 21:55 to 22:50. Series 2, Episode 13, "See Me". 6 March : HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHULER!! 13 Feb : Preview this week's episode of Law & Order : SVU here. Shuler will guest star in this episode, which airs on Tuesday 15th. 6 Feb : An article at PittsburghLive describes Patti LuPone as looking forward to Regina with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation! "Regina is scaring me to death," LuPone says. "I've been working on it since May. It's the toughest thing I've ever done. ... It's an amazing piece of modern American drama." She will be working with Shuler Hensley, who will play her husband, Horace. "I'm thrilled," she says. "What you want are actors." 30 Jan : More concert dates for Shuler! He's to appear in Michael Tilson Thomas' Remembrances of Thomashefsky's Yiddish Theatre at New York's famous Carnegie Hall on 16 and 17 April. And the concert is also scheduled for San Francisco on 29 June. Tickets are already on sale for both venues. More 18 Jan : Playbill yesterday published an announcement about Shuler's upcoming appearance in the concert Regina at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC. Article and photo here 16 Jan : Just discovered that reruns of Ed will air on US TV station TBS, weekdays at noon, starting tomorrow. Shuler guest stars early on in Series 1 - Episode # 3 "Just Friends", and in Series 2 "Small Town Guys". There is still no news of any DVD release for the show. 12 Jan : US fans - a date for your diaries! Shuler's episode of Law & Order : SVU will première on NBC on Tuesday 15 February at 10pm. The episode is called Hooked 8 Jan : Fans in the UK please note that the second series of Law & Order : Criminal Intent starts on Channel 5 this coming Wednesday, 12 January. Shuler guest stars in this series, in the episode called See Me. According to the show's official site, this is episode # 13. 7 Jan : Independent movie The Bread, My Sweet (in which Shuler stars as Pino) has finally had its DVD release.
