7 Nov : Time to play catch-up with recent news and articles about Shuler and Young Frankenstein :

You'll enjoy this! - Playbill's Cue & A with Shuler.

Newsday has interviews together with a great video and photos of the show.

"Shuler's so playful he's like a little boy," says Bart of his nearly 6-foot-4 colleague. "It's been a real good click between us," agrees Hensley. The NJ Star-Ledger spoke with Shuler and Roger (Dr Frankenstein) Bart, and also posted a stunning Halloween photo of Shuler with Today show host Matt Lauer.

Yet another article : "Perhaps the most anticipated scene will be the one based on the musical number from the film when the scientist Frederick Frankenstein and his monster tap-dance to Puttin' on the Ritz ..... Actor Shuler Hensley who plays the monster knows his performance will be compared to that of Boyle, who died in December, despite all the new songs. “You can't get the images of Gene Wilder or Peter Boyle out of your head. With that said, you just sort of just go up there and enjoy the material,” Shuler said, at SignOnSanDiego.com

Playbill's Photo Call shows what happened when The Monster met The Blind Hermit!

YF will feature on NBC's Today Show again this week, and also on NBC Nightly News and Weekend Today.

And the cast of YF head into the recording studio next Monday to cut a CD for release in late December on the Decca label.

24 Aug : Broadway.com are first to present photo coverage of last night's YF première. The 32 sensational shots by Bruce Glikas include many of Shuler with fellow cast members and with Paula and Skyler (looking adorable!) Talkin' Broadway's reviewer David-Edward Hughes reports that "Shuler Hensley as the Monster has a powerful presence which sucks you into watching his facial and body movements - critical to the success of his mainly mute role. And when Hensley does let loose in choreographic terms for 'Puttin' on the Ritz' or to briefly vocalize on the 'Deep Love' reprise, the only description adequate is (to borrow the Monster's famous lyric by Irving Berlin) - super duper!"

18 Aug : New York will have a second "Frankenstein" in October! The show which Shuler recorded in 2001, originally entitled Frankenstein, The Musical, starts performances off-Broadway on 10 October. The only cast member to be announced so far is Hunter Foster, whose sister Sutton just happens to be one of Shuler's co-stars in YF! Check out Playbill for full details. In this, Shuler says of the show : "It's one of the first times I've really been able to use my voice in terms of what I was trained, more legit theatre.
