2006 is the year that New York's annual Broadway Under the Stars concert moved to Central Park, having previously been held in Bryant Park.

The 2006 concert paid tribute to the legendary director and producer Hal Prince and featured songs from musicals he has directed. Shuler sang Carl-Magnus' song In Praise of Women from Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music.

Other performers included : Elaine Strich, Michael Cerveris, John Cullum, Christine Ebersole, Sutton Foster, Brian d'Arcy James, Jane Krakowski, Rebecca Luker, Bebe Neuwirth, Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard & J. Robert Spencer (from Jersey Boys), Carolee Carmello, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Donna McKechnie, Matthew Morrison, Anika Noni Rose and Kelli O'Hara.
