Drama Desk Award
Shuler's Acceptance Speech : "Wow! I want to thank Drama Desk first and foremost. This is pretty unreal for me. And Oklahoma! What can I say? Trevor Nunn, Susan Stroman, Rodgers & Hammerstein - gee, the things I have to work with! It's extraordinary. And the cast - it's really an ensemble show. I know that's said all the time, but this truly is a family over there at the Gershwin, from everyone in the cast, to the crew, to my dresser. I mean, we're all working as a community and it's been a pure joy, especially since I've been with this from London, so I've spent some years with it. "And I want to thank also on a personal note, DGRW, Judy Katz, and my wife Paula, who is my award every day, and our baby daughter Skyler. "And one last thing. 240 days ago something extraordinary happened to us all in this city, and it makes you re-evaluate what's truly important and what you want to stand for in life, and I can honestly say I've never been prouder to be a part of the New York theatre community, to be an actor, to see what we do and how it affects peoples' lives, and I just want to say - we're all winners tonight, and thank you for letting me be a part of this family. Thank you."
