Jud
Fry's solo Lonely Room was cut from the movie and the
original cast album of Oklahoma! and some devotees may
consider the number extraneous to the show - overly dark, a drag
on the pacing.
But in the
current Broadway revival of Oklahoma! at the Gershwin
Theater the song feels essential, and critics said that was
because of the man who sings it
-
Shuler Hensley.
